Shaffer's Cake and Candy Supplies has been a staple in the community for years. What started out as Milloway's, a small cake business out of Carolyn Milloway's kitchen, gradually became what we know today as Shaffer's.
While in the Cake business Carolyn decided to venture into chocolate making. When her customers seen what she was doing they wanted to learn also. Carolyn would travel over a hour away to pick up chocolate, bring it back home, weigh it out in her kitchen and sell it out of her tiny store that was one a dining room. She loved showing people how to make cakes and candy. Carolyn continued doing cake classes after Joan took over.
December of 1985 Joan Shaffer purchased Carolyn's Cake and candy Supply business. Joan continued growing the business until she retired in December of 2016.
Annette Commodore took over the business in January of 2017 after helping Joan for 17 years.
